GPRW is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization and all donations are tax deductible. Dog rescue is expensive. Medical care, food, and housing for a giant breed dog is even more expensive and requires a constant outflow of cash.
Caring for our Pyrs is no small feat — we go through 12 to 14 extra-large bags of dog food every single month, and that’s just the basics.

We have a special place in our hearts for dogs who arrive with extra challenges. Hank and Tilly both tested heartworm positive when they came to us. Holly required extensive surgery on both hind legs. Isabel underwent three reconstructive knee surgeries, and her companion Wally developed a serious skin condition that caused him to lose most of his coat. These dogs demand significant medical care and resources — and they are absolutely worth every bit of it.
